Plus-Size Blogger Inspo For Your Fall Coat Search

by Arielle Dachille

Adios, summer! It's been real and all, but the time has come for us to part ways yet again. Fall is on the horizon, and to be honest, we're kinda ready for September weather, which can only mean one thing: coat season. For all of my plus-size ladies out there on the interwebs, finding the perfect piece can be a struggle. Where can you find great plus-size jackets for fall? And how do you style such a staple piece with this year's trends?

Let me preface this by saying that anything that can rock in standard sizes is fair game for plus-size ladies. But one unfortunate issue that plus-sized babes can run into when coat shopping is that many of the jackets on the market are cut like shapeless shrouds. Well fret not, dear reader. When in doubt about such pressing matters, you can always turn to the Instagram community for plenty of happy inspiration. In other words, the struggle to find a coat that flaunts your body and your fall wardrobe is over.

We've teamed up with Nordstrom to bring you some helpful tips on how to style the last layer for fall. This collection of gorgeous plus-sized bloggers prove that you can rock the coolest trends at any size.

A good leather jacket is something that every fashionable girl should have in her closet. In addition to going with literally everything, it's perfect for the transitional time before the serious fall chill. What's more, the street cred of wearing one of these is undeniable.

Don't be afraid to mix and match this piece with some other trends, like fringe or some distressed denim.

Perfect The Shoulder-Draped Coat

Sejour Plaid Zip Front Topper, $159 at Nordstrom

Cocoon coats have been a strong outerwear trend for a few years, and 2015 is no exception. However, if you wear one every day, it can overwhelm your outfit.

You see plenty of bloggers employing this all-important styling trick with larger coats. Drape one over your shoulders, and style an outfit with plenty of chic details that you really want people to see.

Take a page out of Sandra Negron's book and work a flyaway coat with a belt and some high-waisted skinnies. This is a great way to show off your gams. Plus, it's pretty much the kind of look you'll wanna wear essentially every day.

Make A Kimono Casual
