The Force Is Strong With Adidas Star Wars Sneakers

by Renata Certo-Ware

This latest athletic brand's collab kind of makes me wish they kept the lights on in movie theaters. Adidas' limited edition Star Wars sneaker collection of customizable kicks is inspired by the films, and has been released in advance of Episode VII: The Force Awakens, the newest in the series that will hit theaters this December.

When it comes to the age old "good guys verses bad guys" debate, Adidas doesn't take sides; the Originals and Y Originals are inspired by Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, C-3PO and more for men, women and children, and the kid's range also includes a few extremely covetable clothing styles, as well.

The Star Wars line comes right on the heels of several big collaborations for the German brand, which earlier in July released a collection with blink-and-you-already-missed-them Yeezy Boost sneakers designed by Kanye West. Back in June, Adidas also blurred the lines between the silver screen and street style, releasing an collection inspired by Marvel's latest blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The sneaks come in combinations of camo, solids and metallics with endless options to customize everything from shoelaces to stitching and everything in between, although the internet has spoken; the toe-to-heel silver and gold pairs seem to be the most 'grammable.

More options include a couple camouflages — depending on on which galaxy you call home — different bases, and Vader-embossed shell toes and heel patches.

This isn't the first time the sci-fi series has found its way into fashion; Rodarte presented a Star Wars- themed collection for FW 2014, and the same year, Vans did a shoe line inspired by the films.
