Ben & Jerry's is Making Our Dreams Come True

by Sara Levine

When it comes to food, few things in this world are more exciting than when two of your favorite things come together — for instance, that time pizza was combined with mini pizzas or when spaghetti and tacos united to form spaghetti tacos. Which is why I’m sure we’re all absolutely elated to find out that our two favorite people, Ben and Jerry, are making beer inspired by their ice cream. And to answer your question, no, life does not get any better than this.

Paste reported that New Belgium Brewing Co., a Colorado-based brewery, is teaming up with our favorite ice cream-makers to make a new ice-cream inspired beer called Salted Caramel Brownie Ale. Even though I want to try it right this second, sadly I won’t be able to do so until the fall, when this “brown ale laden with chocolatey, salted-caramel vanilla goodness” is finally available. I feel like all my dreams came true in that one moment I learned this beer was a real thing that was going to exist, only to have them dashed now that I can’t have immediate gratification. But the good news is that if you sign up for their email alerts, New Belgium will email you the second the Salted Caramel Brownie Ale hits your city. So life isn’t all that bad.

Until we can taste the Ben & Jerry's flavored ice cream, I guess we'll just have to settle for regular ol' Ben & Jerry's. Sigh. So just as a quick refresher in case you forgot how amazing Ben & Jerry's is, let's quickly recap their new flavors.

Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core

I have tried it and can confirm, the cookie cores are the bomb, as is speculoos. I am so glad Ben & Jerry's jumped on the speculoos bandwagon, because it used to be that the only time I could get these amazing cookies was when I flew Delta.

Save Our Swirled

Save Our Swirled is a "raspberry ice cream with marshmallow and raspberry swirls and dark and white fudge ice cream cones," so in other words, YUM. The flavor also helps support efforts to stop climate change, so you can actually help the world and your taste buds at the same time.

The Tonight Dough

Remember when I talked about how awesome it is when our two favorite things come together? OK, so now our three favorite people, Jimmy Fallon and Ben and Jerry, have created a caramel and chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookie swirls and chocolate chip cookie dough AND peanut butter cookie dough.
