Megyn Kelly Brought The Heat Tonight

by Kylie McConville

You might not agree with her politics, but I think we can all agree Megyn Kelly did a good job at the GOP debate Thurday night. As one of three moderators of the 10-man GOP debate, Kelly was ruthless, stuck to the issues, pressed the candidates on the biggest issues of the night, and then pressed some more. Without a doubt, Kelly trumped her co-moderators, Christopher Wallace and Brett Baier, and was the one running the show.

Honestly, for a party that could clearly give a sh*t about women's issues, women's rights, women's bodies — and, really, just women having a voice in our society, Megyn Kelly was the only person on that stage each candidate, Trump included, cowered down to — and even Wallace and Baier deferred to her for the most part. Perhaps her best moment came when Kelly questioned Trump on his sexist comments about women. "You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals," Kelly said to Trump.

Kelly was firm, direct, and didn't give any of the 2016 GOP hopefuls (too) free a pass on the hard questions. And it wasn't just Republicans who were congratulating Kelly for stepping up to the plate and bringing it. It was public and Democrats, too. Even Chelsea Clinton had to give it up for Kelly.

Less men, more Kelly, OK, GOP?
