The sartorial spotlight is going to be shining on textured shoes this fall, and what better way could there be to embrace this cutesy fashion trend than by wearing pom pom shoes? It could be argued that the fluffy fashion trend harks back to the super cute Fendi Bag Bugs that rose to fame in 2013. Or maybe it was the incredibly creative and adorable Fendi Bag Bug advertising campaign that catapulted furry fashion accessories into the eye of the general public.
Fast forward a couple of years and the focus is on furry feet. Now, I'm not talking Yetis or Hobbits, but rather high end, fashionable footwear. The piece that had everyone talking for a while was Gucci's hairy slipper, which looked a little like a wearable Dougal from The Magic Roundabout. If you're after something a little less hairy, though, Dolce and Gabbana showcased red furry heels that reminded me of a phoenix rising from the ashes.
There were a few sightings of pom poms adorning shoes on the autumn/winter 2015 runways as well. IMO, the most notable design had to be Gucci's lace-up booties that sported pom poms dangling from the ends of the laces.
