6 Makeup Tips From Kylie Jenner's New Website

by Rosie Narasaki

Have you bitten the bullet and paid the prerequisite $2.99/month for Kylie Jenner's new website yet? The reality star's personal website, which launched this morning (along with all of her sisters' respective sites — each with its own subscription fee) is something of a fashion/hair/beauty lover's dream. It's filled to the brim with breakdowns of Kylie's favorite outfits, behind-the-scenes peeks of some of her most memorable photo shoots, and — perhaps best of all — features where she expounds on her best beauty tips and makeup looks.

So far, she's already included a tutorial on how to get the makeup look she wore to her recent 18th birthday party, as well as a list of some of her favorite products. Her site will also feature a partnership with vlogger Gigi Gorgeous — together, they'll produce the quirkily (not to mention frankly) titled, "Help, My Face is F*cked."

Kylie may have only just launched the site today, but it already hosts quite the array of hair and beauty tips — so if you're not quite ready to pull your credit card out and subscribe, here are six of the best tips from the site.

1. Use Scotch Tape As A Stencil

Have you heard of the old tape trick for the perfect eye makeup? Well, you add a piece of Scotch tape to the outer corner of your eye to act as a kind of stencil to help create the sharpest eye look possible."I've never taped my eyes before," quipped Kylie, "First time for everything."

Her makeup artist then went on to create a pretty darn smashing contoured smoky eye. Kylie dubbed the final look "so dope," and the tape definitely helped to add some graphic flair.

2. Invest In Some Foundation Illuminator

Foundation illuminator is not something I consider part of my daily routine, but I might just add it — as part of her birthday party look, Kylie's makeup artist brushed some of Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation Illuminator onto her bare face, and the glowy results are pretty tough to argue with. She then added foundation on top of the illuminator, for a more natural and subtle look.

3. Give Contouring A Try

No Kardashian makeup tip list would be complete without some kontouring, right? Well, Kylie's makeup artist chiseled her cheekbones and nose, using Kevyn Aucoin's Sensual Skin Enhancer in 02 for the highlight, and a mixture Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Chestnut and Chanel Tan de Soleil for the contour.

And what did Kylie think of her newly imposed bone structure? "I love nose jobs... fake nose jobs," she added.

4. Use Setting Spray

For her birthday look, Kylie needed something that would last through some serious partying — so her makeup artist set the makeup with MAC Fix+ for a "dewy" look.

5. Dry Shampoo Is Your Friend

Drybar Dry Shampoo for Brunettes made Kylie's curated "So Down" list — she says she "has an entire drawer full of this amazing dry shampoo in [her] glam room."

6. Know Your Undertone When Selecting a Concealer

In a segment titled, "Help, My Face is Fucked," YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous instructed Kylie's subscribers on how to select the correct shade of concealer. First off, it's important to know your undertone — cool versus warm. She also suggested dabbing the product on using a Beauty Blender (since the undereye area is so sensitive), as well as setting with a powder for added lasting power.

What do you think? Will you be giving any of the above tips a try? There's nothing on lip fillers yet, but let's give it time — this is day one, after all.
