Nike Unveils Sochi 2014 Olympics Medal Stand Uniforms for U.S. Athletes

In October Ralph Lauren revealed the pea coat, ski sweater, and accessories that all U.S. Olympians will be sporting at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2014 winter olympics in Sochi, Russia. But another brand is outfitting American athletes for the moment they mount the medal stand.

This week Nike unveiled the jackets and shoes athletes will wear when they win gold (and silver and bronze), including a chic, futuristic silver puffy coat and FlyKnit sneakers with on-trend neon soles.

But the space-age look doesn't mean these uniforms lack warmth, physical and emotional. The synthetic wool in the FlyKnits will keep medal-winning toes toasty, and we imagine the patriotic messages sewn and printed in places only the wearer can see feel extra meaningful when a medal's hanging around your neck.
