13 Lace-Up Looks To Weave Into Your Wardrobe

by Alexa Tucker

It looks like lace-up shirts and dresses are the latest celebrity obsession — from Kim Kardashian, to Alessandra Ambrosio, to Bella Hadid, the It girls of the world are all tied up in the trend. The sultry look began its takeover with sky-high heels and gladiator sandals, but has since made it's way into tops, bodysuits, and overall, the hearts of cool girls everywhere. You don't have to have a celeb's perfectly tanned chest to kill it in a lace-up look, though — it's surprisingly versatile and inclusive.

The lace-up trend can take on many different vibes — in a floaty tent frock or a loose peasant top, the style is decidedly '70s chic. In a skin-tight bandage dress or a bodysuit under a leather skirt, it's incredibly sexy and confidence-inspiring. Lace-up details may be distinct, but it's totally customizable.

Play up the style with a vampy dark red lip, or tone it down with glowy, neutral makeup. The tone is entirely up to you, and the styling options are endless. A chunky mule-style heel or a skinny stiletto, and carry-all bag or a trendy clutch — what you pair with a lace-up dress or top can totally determine the look.

Maybe that's why celebs are so on board. It's undeniably trendy, but individual at the same time. Here's Kim Kardashian owning the look...
