The Best Kylie Lip Kit Alternatives To Shop

by Jessica Willingham

Raise your hand if you're surprised Kylie Jenner's Kylie Lip Kit sold out within a minute of launching online. Oh, no one? Yeah, me either. Luckily, I prepared myself for this day's disappointment by rounding up the best Kylie Lip Kit alternatives and where to get them.

I can honestly say I've been waiting for The Kylie Jenner Lip Kit for some time now. Jenner is the princess of pout, and (lip injections or not) it's obvious that she is knowledgeable about makeup and beauty. We've been hearing tons of rumors and suggestions about the kind of products she uses to achieve the desired, full matte lip look, but it wasn't until she announced her very own line of lip products that we could guarantee using exactly what Kylie uses.

The lip kits consist of a liner and matching liquid lipstick. The kits come in three shades, Dolce K, Candy K, and True Brown K. Because is it even a Kardashian-Jenner product without a signature K? The shades are light, medium, and dark and all come in matte finishes.

Liquid lipsticks can be tricky in formulation because they have a tendency to be exceptionally drying. I'm anxious to hear the reviews come in, since I won't be able to experience the magic myself. If you, too, were unlucky online today, have no fear.

Here are the best alternatives for The Kylie Jenner Lip Kit.

Candy K Alternatives

1. Gerard Cosmetics Hydra-Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra-Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity, $20, Amazon

This liquid lipstick was made in collaboration with Manny MUA and has the same soft, feminine vibe as Candy K. It's also a dupe for the pricer Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood.

2. NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Nude Pink

NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Nude Pink, $10, Amazon

These pencils are creamy and easy to work with, but still long wearing. You can even use this pencil alone to recreate Kylie's famously matte lips.

3. Milani Amore Matter Lip Creme in Adore

Milani Amore Matter Lip Creme, $9, Milani Cosmetics

This is, in my opinion, the best liquid lipstick available at the drugstore. It's extremely pigmented and minimally drying, and reminds me of the now-also-sold-out Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in "Milkshake".

Dolce K Alternatives

1. ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip in Teeny Tiny

ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip in Teeny Tiny, $12, Amazon

Kylie loves mauve and brows in a lip, and this color pairs the two tones together for a really wearable look.

2. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita, $35, Amazon

This one became an instant classic because it is the perfect, cool '90s girl shade. It looks like an exact dupe for Dolce K, which was smart on Jenner's part — this one sells like hotcakes.

3. NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Muave

NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Muave, $14, Amazon

To suggest any other pencil would be a waste of time, especially for the price. These are the best, most affordable and accessible pencils out there and they come in a million different colors.

True Brown K Dupes

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Vamp

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Vamp, $34, Amazon

This dupe has a little more reddish brown tint to it, but mixing it with another color (like the super brown "Sepia") turns it into a perfect dupe.

2. OFRA Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mocha

OFRA Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mocha, $20, OFRA Cosmetics

An insanely close dupe to True Brown K, and super affordable. These OFRA formulas are moisturizing but still last without flaking or crumbling on your lips.

3. MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Chesnut

MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Chesnut, $28, Amazon

If you have trouble finding a "true brown" you can always alter the color by using a a brown lip liner as the base of the lip. Lip liners can truly alter (and improve) a pout color.
