Khloe Kardashian's Sleep Tip Is Better Than Botox

With deep pockets and full glam squads at their stiletto-manicured fingertips, one would expect the Kardashians to be able to keep their looks as youthful as possible for as long as possible. Does Khloe Kardashian use Botox to keep her skin looking so... flawless? At 31, the sassy reality star looks expectedly amazing. But is she getting a little help with lines on her face via fillers? The answer is no, actually!

It's worth nothing she obviously takes care of herself, posting plenty of selfies that show her working hard and working out, maintaining her shape. So big ups to Kardashian for busting her butt in all the right and healthy ways.

But in an interview with New Beauty, she explained that she has found an all-natural way to avoid lines. Her alternative involves sleeping on a different side of her face. So sleep positions can help prevent lines? Oh yes!

Kardashian revealed, "I sleep on the right side of my face and my best friend pointed out that it looks flat and suggested I get filler. I see it, but I don’t think one side of my face is flat. I don’t think people thought about these things before Botox and fillers became so accessible. Now, I try to sleep on my left side."

Even though no women needs any sort of injectables, here is some further clarification on her point.

JuveRest notes that expression wrinkles are the result of muscle contractions that happen when we make facial expressions. These are crow's feet, frown lines, and more. According to JuveRest, sleep wrinkles happen due to distortion of the face during sleep. They are the result of compression due to contact with the pillow.

JuveRest notes that Botox cannot eliminate sleep wrinkles, since they are not caused by muscle movement but by the facial compression against the pillow surface. Fillers can plump sleep wrinkles but they can return or develop in other areas.

JuveRest makes a Sleep Wrinkle Pillow that supports the head and discourages sleeping on your face to help you to avoid those sorts of wrinkles. That seems like commons sense to avoid sleep wrinkles. But changing a sleep habit isn't easy but it's doable and a way better option to keep skin taut.

It's easy to understand why Kardashian swapped sides. She can also rotate sides or try sleeping on her back, if possible. The same goes for the rest of us who may be worried about facial lines.

Another natural suggestion is using a satin pillow case, allowing skin to rest against a super soft and comforting material. Plus, they will make your bed look chic.

It's probably a good option for your delicate hair, too! ($10.99, bedbathandbeyond.com)

These are all things to think about when it comes to keeping your skin in its best possible condition.
