Robin Blurred Lines, But It Might be OK

by Ivy Jacobson

Robin Thicke sings nothing but praises of his wife, Paula Patton, and their "functional, dysfunctional" marriage — but eyebrows are being raised again after Robin Thicke was pictured getting close with a woman on the dance floor in Paris at Club 79 on Jan. 18. In the photos, he mostly looks like he's partying on the dance floor in the middle of a crowd, but in another, Thicke is almost lip-to-lip with a curly-haired woman, leaning closely into her face. Paula hasn't been confirmed yet as being there or not, but Thicke was there to promote his clothing line.

Ohhh Robin... why does your only hit song's title seemingly describe more than one public situation with you?

His incident with college student Lana Scolaro proves that this isn't the first time he was pictured looking a little too cozy with another female. Scolaro infamously posed in a photo that was posted on Twitter of Thicke grabbing her behind, visible in a mirror behind the two, at a 2013 VMAs afterparty.

However, Thicke spoke out in a general sense about his marriage after the photo with Scolaro was seen.

He declared he and Patton's relationship “the greatest love of the century, and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood."

“My only comment about the so-called scandalous photo would be that my wife and I are perfectly in love and very happily married ... So, no complaints there," he told Star magazine.

The couple wed in 2005 and have one 3-year-old son together, Julian Fuego (which sounds like an awesome name for a DJ, incidentally). Patton and Thicke are known to always act very lovey-dovey with each other during events and red carpet appearances, twisting their narrative even more and making us just plain curious about their marriage.

Thicke tweeted after he left Paris:

Even though Patton hasn't publicly addressed either photograph, we wonder if she'll be thanking Paris, too.
