A 'Friends' Reunion Special Is Coming To NBC

I know I've gotten your hopes up before and it's turned out to be all for nothing, but this is not a drill. We have official confirmation of a Friends reunion special. I'm sorry that I didn't warn you to sit down before telling you this, but you can fix the leg you broke from falling down so hard in excitement later. For now, I gotta get these deets out of my system before I burst in happiness and excitement. The long-awaited reunion will come in the form of a two-hour special which will air Sunday, Feb. 21 on NBC at 9:00 p.m. ET. The event is being arranged to honor longtime sitcom director James Burrows' recent milestone of directing his thousandth episode of television (15 of those were Friends episodes).

The special will also feature the reunited casts of other off-the-air shows that Burrows worked on, including Cheers, Frasier, and Will & Grace, as well as some of the current shows he's helmed, like The Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly. Apparently, the broadcast is intended to mirror NBC's star-studded February 2015 presentation of the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special, which drew high ratings for the network. But shut up about all that, because Friends, you guys. Friends!

As if we could take any more excitement today, word from TV Line is that the entire main cast will be a part of the festivities. So Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry will all be in the same room, reminiscing about times of old. I'm honestly short of breath right now.

The special is scheduled to tape in late January, and it'll be streaming right into your eyeballs Feb. 21. So do whatever you need to do to prep for your sweet babies Phoebe, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, and Joey being together again at long last, because all our wildest dreams are coming true. We need to be ready.
