Sounds Like Paris Is Returning To 'Gilmore Girls'!

This is probably the most exciting news to come from Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival, since it was announced that the beloved dramedy is officially getting a reboot. It seems like Paris Geller is returning to Gilmore Girls. That's right, the character brought to life by Liza Weil appears to be making her way back to her best friend Rory Gilmore. To be clear, neither Weil, Netflix, nor Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino have confirmed Paris' return, but in an interview, Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) let it slip that GG creator Sherman-Palladino wrote lines for Paris.

"But these scripts are good," Bishop told TVLine. "They’re really good. And bringing back all of those characters is so delicious. Like Gypsy (Rose Abdoo); I always loved Gypsy. And Paris is a hoot. It’s unbelievable what Amy has written for Paris. People are going to have so much fun with it."

First, let's let out some excitement for Gypsy's possible return, too! OK, now back to Paris. If Paris has lines to read, then that absolutely means she is part of the reboot. There really is no other explanation for it. I'm pretty confident that Bishop just confirmed Paris' return. So, if Weil is reprising her role as the intelligent, blunt, and hilarious Paris, then that also means Doyle (Danny Strong) will make an appearance, too, right?

Seeing as Paris and Doyle ended up together (and I'm hoping are living happily ever after), the series can't bring Paris back without him. Obviously, GG could and might, but that would kind of be a bummer. That said, and as much as I'd love to see a new sparring match between Paris and Doyle, I'll be happy to just see Paris.

Now if you'll excuse me while I channel my inner Paris and continue being impatient until the new episodes of Gilmore Girls are actually streaming.
