11 Oscar Party Appetizers That Deserve An Award

by Corinne Caputo

With the 88th annual Academy Awards quickly approaching this Sunday, it's time to figure out what you're going to wear before you host the ultimate viewing party. I've got your party menu covered with these Oscar party appetizers that are sure to take home the trophy for Best Appetizers of the year. So you should probably also get an acceptance speech ready for Best Host.

Viewing parties can go one of two ways. First, they can be super fancy. Wear a gown, pour champagne, and roll out the fake red carpet and pretend you’re really heading to the show. Second, the parties can be super chill with sweat pants, your cat, and two hours of live-tweeting. Both parties are great, don’t get me wrong, but how many nights do you have a silly excuse to wear that fancy dress you own but never have a chance to wear?

I say skip the sweats, drink champagne, and pretend you are a star this Sunday. These appetizers (with the exception of the killer popcorn recipe at the end) skew towards the fancy party, and since appetizers are always the best dishes of the night, with the exception of dessert of course, I highly recommend going all out.
