Felicity Hayward Is Fronting This New Curve Line

by Gina Jones 2

Tara Starlet is a British brand that celebrates all things kitsch and retro, and finally, the retailer is going to be catering to more than just straight sizes. Tara Starlet's curve range, fronted by popular curve model Felicity Hayward, is set to launch with the rest of the clothing company's spring/summer 2016 collection, and will ship internationally. Although it's not out quite yet, I've been drooling over the lookbook images on Instagram for weeks, and I'm ecstatic that this quirky cool brand has listened to its customer base and given them what they've asked for: The aptly named "Starlet Curvy" line.

With the momentum building behind the brand's new curve range, after several images were shared both on Tara Starlet and Hayward's Instagram accounts in addition to in the retailer's mailing list, many plus size babes are gearing up to purchase the new line. After all, it's no secret that much of the plus size community adores dressing up in retro and vintage styles. Having another brand to buy from doesn't just mean great things for Tara Starlet's future sales, but for the myriad of plus size women who deserve variety and options.

The bright colors and bold prints are perfect for the upcoming spring months. With many totally adorable two-pieces and perfectly kitschy gingham dresses set to drop any minute, I can't wait to throw it back to the '50s this summer with Tara Starlet's help.

In conversation with Hayward via email, her enthusiasm not only for Starlet Curvy but for plus size clothing availability was evident to me. "I am a firm believer that fashion is for everyone, so I'm ecstatic Tara Starlet has decided to increase her size range." She adds, "I am so glad I got to meet this wonderful human and was able to help her promote her new sizing increase."

On the Tara Starlet Instagram announcement for the plus size line's launch, the brand acknowledged the importance of catering to women of more sizes. "You called and we listened girls, SS16 will see us DOUBLE our size range to 6 to 24!! More starlet style to go around, spread the love, spread the word!" And here's hoping the inevitable success of this expansion will lead to more sizes and more inclusivity for women and feminine people of all sizes.

This only goes to show that if you make it, people will come. And if you don't, they'll ask you to make it until you do. Not only is plus size clothing a proven money maker, but plus size women deserve as many options as our straight size pals. Personally, I can't wait for this collection to drop so I can add to my kitschy, pastel wardrobe just in time for warm weather.
