Here's A Behind-The-Scenes Peek At 'Cursed Child'

On Friday, beloved British author J.K. Rowling shared a behind-the-scenes video from the set of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child . Set immediately after the close of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the highly anticipated sequel play follows the Golden Trio and their children through an all-new adventure.

The video shows Rowling enter the rehearsal studio, past a sign that reads "KEEP CALM and KEEP the secrets." She meets up with Cursed Child director John Tiffany and playwright Jack Thorne, and the three discuss how much the play might change between rehearsal, preview, and performance. Rowling drops a not-so-subtle hint to the Harry Potter fandom, reminding them that they should not spoil the plot for those who have not seen it:

One of the things that I have valued most about the Potter fandom is that, as a community, they have really looked after each other. People have each other's backs. It's a special thing. they really look out for each other. And it's for that reason, more than any other, I would like us, if we can, to manage to keep our secrets. This will be such an incredible theatrical experience, that I'd love us to be able to surprise people and move people in the natural way that a story should surprise and move people.

Rowling's video is the latest in a string of announcements regarding the play, which will hold preview performances in May. Most recently, fans learned that Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley would have roles in the all-new story.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens at the Palace Theater in July 2016.
