J. Lo Is A No Show At The 2016 Met Gala

by Toria Sheffield

If there's one thing Jennifer Lopez never does, it's disappoint on the red carpet. That is when she shows up. And unfortunately the star opted to skip the 2016 Met Gala, leaving me with a serious case of J. Lo red carpet withdrawal.

Maybe I wouldn't be quite so bummed if Lopez hadn't so completely blown everyone away with last year's "China: Through The Looking Glass" theme. She completely killed it in a custom-made, skin tight red Atelier Versace gown which featured a dragon made from rubies wrapped around her body. Yes — you read that correctly — a dragon made from rubies. The dress proved once again that she's incredibly comfortable in her own skin (let's just say the term "cut out dress" doesn't quite cover it). Plus, it reminded us she's as super-humanly beautiful as when she gifted the world with her now-infamous plunging green Grammy dress all those years ago (it's been 16 years people!).

So forgive me if I'm more than a little depressed about the fact that she decided not to attend this year's function. More than likely she's a little busy promoting her show Shades of Blue, as well as her relatively new single Ain't Your Mama. So I forgive you Jen — just this once.

And to quench some of your J. Lo style thirst, here are a few of her top past looks. At least we have the memories.
