If you thought Taylor Swift going platinum blonde was the hair transformation of the summer, get ready for a complete shock. Adding to the list of celebrities that have picked the light hue this season, Rooney Mara now has platinum blonde hair. The actress went from one extreme to another with this change, but looks pretty darn good in both colors. This isn't the first time she's rocked an unconventional hair look, and I'm guessing it won't be her last.

Mara has always been know for her dark hair, vampy look, and effortlessly cool style. Well, prepare for the world to turn on its head, because the actress has just surprised everyone with her most drastic change yet. The 31-year-old traded in her dark brunette hair for something a bit more summery. And by that, I mean the brightest she could possibly go. It's definitely the star's biggest hair transformation yet, even compared to all her quirky red carpet updos.

Mara isn't the first celebrity to ditch their signature style for platinum blonde recently. Swift, Emma Stone, and even Kim Kardashian have tried out the shade. This is definitely the most drastic of them all, though. Some social media posts infer that she might have gone blonde for her new role in The Discovery, so it'll be interesting to see how long she sticks with the bright color.
