Classics-Lovers Will Adore These Coloring Books

by Emma Oulton

If you'd asked me a year ago, I might have said that the adult coloring book was a fad — but these coloring books of classic literature show this trend isn't going anywhere. We've seen adults get their crayons out for Game of Thrones coloring books, for potty-mouthed coloring books, and even for Instagram coloring books that let you color in your own snaps — but this is a big new step. Random House have just released a series of five books that are definitely not one-hit wonders. No, these coloring books are already classics — literally.

The new A Coloring Classic series comprises five iconic works of literature, reimagined as beautiful drawings just begging for a splash of color. Fans of drama and tragedy can get their blue pencils ready to color in Romeo and Juliet's tears, or grey to scribble over Wuthering Heights' stormy scenes; horror fans will have a ball painting Dracula blood-red; readers curled up cosily by the fire need only a white crayon to paint the snowy scenes of A Christmas Carol; and true romantics can fill Pride and Prejudice with a deep, blushing pink. No matter your favorite genre, one of these literary coloring books is perfect for you.
