Macy's 4th Of July Special Has Exciting Performers

by Caroline Gerdes

The Fourth of July mostly means backyard BBQs and fireworks, but it also means the Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC. Watching the special is a great option if you can’t make it to an outdoor event and still need to get your fireworks fix. This year, Macy’s is amping up its pyrotechnic display as 2016 marks its 40th anniversary of illuminating the Manhattan skyline every July 4. And that's in addition the impressive roster of performances at the 2016 Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular.

In honor of this 40th anniversary event, the fireworks display will feature “more than 56,000 effects” and be Macy’s “largest pyrotechnic display in more than a decade,” according to the company. And the performances promise to be just as spectacular, with a lineup of some of pop music’s biggest hitters putting on a patriotic show. Macy’s announced that the following America-inspired songs will be performed, “The Star Spangled Banner,” “The Stars & Stripes Forever,” “This Land is Your Land,” “Shenandoah,” “This is My Country,” “The Armed Services Medley,” “Where Eagles Fly,” and “God Bless America.”

So, who is performing the songs that will bolster the 2016 fireworks display? Here is a list of the performers and hosts you can catch on NBC’s Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular, airing live on Monday, July 4, at 8 p.m. ET.
