Disney Lovers, Get Ready For These New Emojis

by Michelle Regalado

Emojis have become such a staple in our daily text conversations, that it's hard to remember a time when we couldn't insert a monkey face or a pink lady to illustrate our points. But there's a certain type of emoji that's been missing all this time and we're finally about to get it: Disney emojis.

That's right. In a video released on July 7, Disney confirmed that it's officially unveiling a brand new collection of more than 400 Disney and Pixar-themed emojis. If you pay close attention to the teaser, you can see that the new collection of illustrations includes characters from The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and Toy Story. Each of the characters, like Donald Duck and Monsters Inc.'s Mike, will have a variety of facial expressions, from laughing to tearful to embarrassed to surprised.

And that's not all. The new emoji keyboard will also feature classic Disney symbols, such as princess cone hats and Mickey Mouse-shaped balloons.

But there is a slight catch. You won't just be able to download all the emojis at once, like you usually can. To unlock new emojis, users first have to play a game called Emoji Blitz, which involves matching characters to score points.

The more points you rack up, the more emojis you collect. It may take a little work to get them all, but it'll all be worth it once you have a smiling Ariel emoji to use, right?

An exact release date for Disney's Emoji Blitz has not yet been released, but the app is expected to come to iOS and Android soon.
