Joey Fatone & 98 Degrees Tackle An *NSYNC Classic

by Kristie Rohwedder

Well, I’ll be a Screech in a tuxedo! Looks like my fellow aughts pop fans and I have yet another reason to bellow “I doooo cherish youuuuu, MY2K Tour” at the tops of our lungs. The veritable treasure chest of a nostalgia fest that features turn-of-the-millennium pop gemstones 98 Degrees, O-Town, Ryan Cabrera, and Dream welcomed yet another late '90s/early ‘00s boy bander to the fold over the weekend: During a show in West Palm Beach, Fla., Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons brought Joey Fatone of *NSYNC onstage. And what happened next is not only my sunshine after the rain, but it is also the cure against my fear and my pain: As Billboard points out, 98 Degrees and Joey Fatone sang *NSYNC smash “Bye Bye Bye.” Together. While wearing camo pants and pocket-covered vests. Much like a Tamagotchi Angel that just housed a bunch of candy, the noughties (woof, that word sure burns the nostrils!) are alive and well.

Oh, what’s that? You would like to know whether or not 98 Degrees plus Fatone did the forever iconic “Bye Bye Bye” music video choreography whilst cloaked in matching ensembles? And you would like to know the answer before you fire up the video because if they did do the “Bye Bye Bye” routine, you wish to be as prepared as humanly possible? I totally relate.

To answer your question, yes. Yes, they do nail the "Bye Bye Bye" choreo. And yes, it's everything. But here's the rub: No amount of prep will be adequate for this perfect video. So, uh, best of luck I guess?

Might sound crazy, but it ain't no lie— I can't stop watching this performance of "Bye Bye Bye."
