This Is HUGE News For 'Fifty Shades' Fans

It's a happy day for fans for E.L. James' steamy romance series: the author just announced that a new Fifty Shades of Grey book is coming soon! The book, tentatively titled Fifty Shades Darker from Christian's Point of View, will likely be released in 2017.

E.L. James took to Facebook on Saturday (Anastasia Steele's 27th birthday!) to announce the news and release an excerpt from the forthcoming book — the fifth in the bestselling romance series. The original three novels — Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed — were all told from Anastasia's POV, but in 2015, James released a fourth book, Grey, that detailed the events of the first book from Christian Grey's POV. This newly announced book will tell the events of the second book, also from Grey's POV. This should be welcome news for fans who love the charming billionaire... and hate Anastasia's "inner goddess."

"Good morning, all," James wrote in the Facebook announcement. "I know you're anxiously awaiting the trailer, and that's happening... soon. In the meantime, in honour of Ana's birthday, there's this." She attached an excerpt of the book to the post, which you can read below:

The movie adaptation of the second book, Fifty Shades Darker , will be released on Feb. 10, 2017. Per James' announcement, a full-length trailer should be arriving shortly, so prepare yourself accordingly. 2017 is shapin' up to be one sexy year.
