There's Now A Netflix For Sleeping

by Michelle Regalado

For many of us, sleep is an elusive beast that we are constantly chasing down. No matter how many eye masks or foam pillows we try, it never stays in our grasp for long. Luckily, there may be a new solution for those snooze-deprived souls out there: Napflix, which is being touted as a new Netflix-like video platform meant to help you fall asleep easier and faster. Say what?!

Though most people have probably attempted to fall asleep while watching the regular Netflix, we all know it never works out the way it was planned. You only mean to watch one episode of Orange is the New Black, and then suddenly it's five hours later and you're still wide awake in the midst of a binge spree. It's not a bad thing, but it can pose a problem for those looking to actually get some sleep.

That's where Napflix comes in. Its site features hundreds of hours of sleep-inducing videos, from lectures to mindless game simulations to soothing landscape footage, like that of a burning fire or a zen garden. Like the original Netflix, there's also some original content to choose from — only, instead of keeping you glued to the screen, these titles are meant to have you dozing off in no time.

And you don't have to worry about leaving your TV on all night either. Once you choose the video you want to watch, you can set the platform’s timer and it will automatically shut down the footage after an allotted amount of time. Easy, right?

So, if you have trouble getting to sleep, forget counting sheep — just turn on Napflix, choose a video, and feel yourself drifting off.
