Cinnaholic Is a 'Shark Tank' Co. Gone Good

by Anam Syed

We're big fans of ABCs' investor pitch show Shark Tank , and this week features two female helmed companies that are doing pretty well in their own right. Cinnaholic is a Berkeley, California-based vegan cinnamon roll shop with a twist. Founder Shannon Radke looks more Pin-up Girl than Betty Crocker, and in addition to her bakery, also runs a blog dedicated to the soy-free vegan lifestyle. According to Cinnaholic's website, Radke met her husband and business partner Florian through Couchsurfing.com way back in 2008. What began as a blind internet meeting promising drinks and a tour of San Francisco eventually turned into a moneymaker as their bakery concept developed.

Beyond their Northern California storefront, Radke also ships her cinnamon rolls directly to customers via her website, which is all kinds of awesome, (because while you maybe be hankering for some vegan goodies, we're betting it's not enough to make a cross-country trek should you be east of their brick-and-mortar). Here are some more quick fast facts about the rockabilly-styled Radke and why we can't stop drooling over her cinnamon roll shop.

1. VEGANS FINALLY GET A COOL AND YUMMY TREAT SOLUTION

If you've ever dragged your vegan friend with you to a fro-yo run, you're familiar with the glare you get when they can't partake. A delish-looking, easily available dessert option everyone can enjoy, purveyed by an awesome to boot? Sign us up.

2. THEY'VE BEEN COVERED IN FORTUNE MAGAZINE

Before you scoff at the vegan bakery idea, take note: Fortune singled them out as one of the industry leaders in palatable, mass-market vegan fair.

3. RADKE'S STYLE IS CRUSH-WORTHY

Refinery29 called her the "East Bay's hottest retro-chic baker" in a slideshow devoted to Radke and Cinnaholic. Her vintage feel sailor dress in the pictorial did not disappoint.

4. CINNAHOLIC'S INSTAGRAM FEED IS A NON-STOP DROOL FEST

Seriously, if you were looking to introduce some professional yum-factor into your feed, this is the Instragram account for you. Just make sure you disable your Facebook sync so your friends don't get annoyed when you "heart" every single treat.

According to PR Newswire, the company is appearing on the Shark Tank to expand their mail order business and support future franchising opportunities. If your appetite is already whetted, then you can check out all of their franchisee details and be on your way to some of that sweet, sweet roll-based income, (or just watch some of Mark Cuban's sweet dance moves and call it a day).
