Zac's Back to His Musical Roots

by Kadeen Griffiths

Zac Efron has been having the best year of his life. First, we were all delighted to see Rita Ora rip Efron's shirt off at the MTV Movie Awards and then we all got our money's worth of shirtless Efron in Neighbors. Not to mention the fact that Seth Rogen has a total brocrush on Zac Efron. He just can't fail. Now, Efron is reportedly in talks for another upcoming movie role and it's taking him back to his (high school) musical roots. Efron is negotiating a role in Max Joseph film, currently known as the Untitled DJ Project.

Max Joseph is best known as one of the co-hosts of the MTV show Catfish alongside Nev Schulman and the Untitled DJ Project will be his first feature directorial debut. The film could star Efron as a young DJ who works on what he hopes will be his first hit track in a coming-of-age tale. Shooting is expected to start this July and Efron is just one of many young stars auditioning for one of the lead roles.

However, Efron hardly needs to worry about competition. Who knows more about music than Troy Bolton? Efron made it through not one, not two, but three High School Musical films and even expressed interest in participating in a fourth reunion film. Clearly, he still holds a lot of love for the franchise that made him a household name despite the fact that Efron hasn't done much singing or dancing since the last movie came out.

In fact, if Efron does land this role, then there are lots of life lessons that he can take from his old High School Musical character that will help him get into character as a struggling DJ. First of all, he needs to be prepared for anything.

Second of all, he needs to never lose sight of who his friends are on his road to fame.

And, most importantly, he needs to stay focused and never let anything distract him from reaching his dreams.
