Wait, Her Voice Is Better Than We Think

by Nicole Fabian-Weber

If you tuned into Watch What Happens Live Sunday night, you were blessed with the pleasure of Melissa and Joe Gorga. The conversation between Andy Cohen and the Gorgas was mainly centered around that WTF brawl between Amber Marchese and Nicole Napolitano on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but, about half-way through the show, Cohen's questions took a more serious turn: why don't we see Melissa Gorga singing on the show anymore? Good Q, Andy. Good Q indeed.

You'll be happy to know that Melissa is in fact still going forward with her singing career... but she'll be keeping it off camera, thankyouverymuch. Melissa told Cohen, "I chose not to give The Real Housewives any music this year... you know, sometimes you show when I hit the note and sometimes you don’t."

Inneresting. By no means am I convinced Melissa Gorga is the next Celine Dion, but the woman brings something to light I never thought of: of course Bravo only shows when she, and all the other Real Housewives who have singing careers, mess up. (Because, let's be honest, it's funny that way.) Again, I certainly don't think Melissa Gorga, LuAnn de Lesseps, or Kim Zolciak have good voices, but it never occurred to me that maybe they're not as bad as the shows make them seem? Huh. Whodda thunk?

So, as a hat tip to Melissa and her better-than-we-think voice, I leave you with her video for "I Just Wanna." You're welcome, friends. You're welcome.
