Kelly Rowland Had Her Baby Boy!

by Georgette Eva

It looks like Destiny’s Child the next generation is welcoming a new member and that Blue Ivy won’t be the only one cheering front row and center when the girls reunite eventually (seriously that better happen soon.) Why do I say this? Because congratulations are in order for singer Kelly Rowland and her husband Tim Witherspoon who welcomed their baby boy on Tuesday, November 4. His name is Titan Jewell Witherspoon, a name which Rowland confirmed at the VMAs in August was chosen by Witherspoon.

"We are thrilled to announce that today we are the proud parents of our first son,” said the singer in a statement to People. “We are blessed to report everyone is healthy and happy!" Rowland and Witherspoon were seen shopping for baby clothes shortly after they got married in the spring, and Rowland dropped the adorable news when she posted a photo of mini Air Jordans next to regular human-sized ones with the caption: "I’ll be stunin' like my daddy..." This was amazing seeing as her baby was already tricked out before he came out of the womb, and now those Jordans are waiting for his little bitty feet.

I'm sure Rowland's going to be a happy mama. She kept up with exercising and working in the studio during her pregnancy, admitting she felt new inspiration from being an expectant mother. And who could forget when Rowland proudly posed nude for Elle almost a month before her due date? She looked gorgeous and she was already excited to get to parenting.

"I can't wait until he gets here. I just have a couple more weeks," she told the magazine. "I'm excited to bring a child into the world, and sharing that experience with my husband is probably the most beautiful part."

The name that husband Witherspoon picked out, however, was noted by Rowland at the VMAs to "have to do with family" and Titan Jewell certainly makes a powerful statement about the Rowland-Witherspoon family. It evokes the phrases we shall over come and we are strong, which is a wonderful image for the young couple and their new child. I, for one, am pumped about this new baby boy. For one, he'll have Blue Ivy to play with, and for another, he can possibly start a pop group with her later on in life.

I just hope that "Lose My Breath" was playing in the background during Rowland's delivery. With lyrics like "Can you keep up? / Baby boy, make me lose my breath" and all of the rhythmic inhales and exhales, it seems like it would've helped while she was in labor.
