See This Makeup Artist's Crazy Transformations

The power of makeup never ceases to amaze me. It's astonishing how different someone looks just by adding mascara, and I truly believe that contouring is the eighth wonder of the world. I've always been captivated by how much you can do with beauty products, but Kandee Johnson's face creations are another level of mind-blowing.

With over 2.3 million subscribers, the L.A.-based makeup artist has climbed the YouTube ranks to become one of the most well-known beauty how-to vloggers on the platform. Although she does have some awesome basic videos that give straightforward tutorials on applying perfect eyeliner and making your foundation ***flawless, her character and celebrity tutorials are what really shine.

Just in time for halloween, Johnson has been releasing tutorials on how to do the perfect makeup to complement 2014's most popular costumes, both classic and modern. To be honest, just watching the videos is making me reconsider my #basic cat get-up — why do something simple when you can make yourself look like an entirely different person? (I'm really feeling like I could be The Hunger Games' Effie Trinket now.)

Granted, she is the expert here, and some of her tutorials are probably not ideal for amateurs (if you're having trouble with the tougher ones, check out some of our halloween makeup tutorials.) But there's some pretty great inspiration to check out, as well as some astonishing changes.
