Here's a little sweet news to help you get through the day-after-Thanksgiving food hangover I'm sure we're all feeling right now: As displayed by a crafty little post on her Instagram, Happy Endings star (and star of the new USA comedy Benched) Eliza Coupe got engaged over Thanksgiving weekend, to her health guru boyfriend, Darin Olien. And when I say crafty, I mean she didn't even announce the engagement — she just displayed it.
On her Instagram early Thursday morning, Coupe posted a photo of her hand — ringless — intertwined with Olien's. The caption was sweet, and, true to form, hilarious: "I am thankful to have found someone with bigger hands than my mammoth man mitts. It's a rare thing. I love you @darin_olien #thanksgiving."
No engagement hints followed until a few hours later, when Coupe posted another photo that also showed off her hand pressed against Olien's cheek — but, this time, there was a big, fat diamond right on her ring finger. The caption of that photo? "Giving Thanks. @darin_olien." Say it with me now: Awwww.
It looks like the proposal may have happened in the presence of Coupe's close family during their Thanksgiving celebration in Malibu: Later in the day, Coupe also posted photos from the family get-together on her Instagram.
Y'know, I would make some sort of "Happy Endings star gets her own happy ending!" joke right about now, but I figure I'll spare you guys that cheesiness.
