12 New Year's Quotes to Get You Thinking

by Chelsey Grasso

Wow 2014, it's been a wild ride. Over the last 12 months, some memorable books have been written, some game-changing feminist moments have occurred, and some weird ass shoes have been made. Now that's what I call a well-rounded year, and my hopes for 2015 are just as high. In fact, after a stroll down memory lane, I've been thinking about what the future has in store — and more profoundly, what some of the world's greatest minds think the future has in store — which brings me to these 12 philosophical quotes about New Year's. Oh yeah, things are going to get deep.

As humans, we've always been drawn to ponder the most unanswerable questions that we can think up, and the future manages to trump every possible question with the giant question mark that it represents. Engaging in the philosophical is to engage in the unknown, and 2015 is most certainly that. But with the unknown comes the possibility of great things, and subsequently, the chance of a brighter tomorrow. Fear of the unknown is natural, but the courage to overcome that fear is something worth going after.

It's time to bid 2014 adieu, and welcome whatever 2015 may bring. Till next year, everyone!
