That Song in the McDonald's Ad Has Miley Roots

by Kristie Rohwedder

In a new TV spot for the Montague Family of the fast-food industry to Burger King’s Capulet, a mailman and a pooch share a soda out of a McDonald’s cup, Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West take a selfie together, Freddy Krueger a Jason Vorhees bond over Chicken McNuggets, and a Green Bay Packers fan offers up his last french fry to a Chicago Bears fan. But will Mickey D's and Burger King ever make peace? As the McDonald's ad continues, we hear MoZella sing "Love Is Endless", but we never see McD's and BK hug it out. Love may be endless, but who knows if it'll ever be a match for that rivalry.

"Love Is Endless" appears on MoZella's 2010 EP The Love. There's a good chance you've heard the singer-songwriter's music during commercial breaks before; MoZella's lent her songs to a ton of ads. Most recently, her cover of a Bob Dylan song was featured in a Chrysler ad campaign, and her song "Unplug" is in a TV spot for Microsoft Surface Pro 3.

Additionally, she's cowritten a bunch of tunes for popular recording artists, including a little ditty made famous by Destiny Hope "Miley" Cyrus. Perhaps you've heard of a song called "Wrecking Ball"? MoZella co-penned it.

And if you haven't heard "Wrecking Ball" 1) I assume you spend 2013 in a soundless vacuum and 2) you should check the song out, stat. Because it is a banger...z. (No, no. Don't get up. I'll see myself out.)
