So, That 20-Week Abortion Bill Passed the House

by Katherine Johnson

Remember that "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act" we told you about yesterday that had the possibility to pass the House? Well, Trent Franks, who made news last week for saying that the “incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low," has had success with the 20-week abortion ban.

Franks' bill passed the Republican controlled House on Wednesday, by a vote of 228-196. The 20-week ban bill now includes exceptions in the case of incest or rape, which were added in by House party leaders.

Six Democrats and six Republicans crossed party lines with their votes on Tuesday. Check out how your representative voted here. (If you're likely to have a rage blackout, you may want to be sitting down; we at Bustle care for your health.)

The bill will now make its way to the Democratic controlled Senate, where it will most likely be defeated.
