Kate Middleton Welcomes Second Child!

by Jaclyn Anglis

This calls for a royal celebration! According to the Kensington Palace official Twitter account, Kate Middleton has given birth to her second child with Prince William. Reportedly, the Duchess of Cambridge and full-time style icon had a baby girl on Saturday, May 2 at 8:34 a.m. British Summer Time. The account also reports that the baby is 8 lbs, 3 oz, that Prince William was there for the birth, and that both Middleton and the new baby are doing well.

Of course, the new bundle of joy will be in good company. The new princess' older brother Prince George has made headlines for his good behavior during many recent public appearances, making his mom and dad's royal tour much easier. And on top of that, there should be no shortage of toys with which the two can play together. Prince George received a whopping 706 gifts from abroad just last year, after all!

Leading up to the birth, Middleton was tirelessly on the move, visiting everyone from New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's wife, Chirlane McCray to the cast of Downton Abbey, donning fashionable attire wherever she went. While she will understandably need to take some downtime following the birth, she is likely excited to have her newborn as part of her ever-exciting journey. Congratulations to the happy couple!
