Your Selfies Could Now Benefit A Good Cause

by Augusta Statz

Good news: Your selfie can now benefit a good cause, in case you needed another reason to find the perfect angle and filter. Use #SimplyAmerican with your most patriotic selfie and Almay will donate a dollar to the United Service Organizations, which supports our troops.

With Carrie Underwood as the brand ambassador, Almay is all about representing American beauty and American pride, and this social media campaign is only an extension of that.

“American ingenuity has always been at the heart of Almay and the brand is proud of its American heritage,” said Revlon President and Chief Executive Officer Lorenzo Delpani. “In joining forces with the USO, we are excited to shine a light on the face of American beauty by celebrating women of the U.S. military as well as encouraging consumers to support them.”

In this collaboration with the USO, not only will the photos posted equal a $1 donation, but for every like and share that the photos get, another dollar will be donated. Almay is shooting for a grand total of $10,000 on top of their already promised donation of $250,000.

Finally! A really good reason to post a selfie. I mean, I couldn’t think of a better reason than to help the women and men serving in our military. For more information on the campaign or to post a photo visit Almay’s website.

Go on, get ready to support our troops and represent that #SimplyAmerican lifestyle. I know I’m ready! But first — let me take a selfie.
