Chris Pratt Used to Work Naked

by Alanna Bennett

Picture this: Andy Dwyer, human golden retriever that he is, at age 18, dancing in his skivvies at your grandmother's birthday party. Seems like it could be an episode of Parks and Rec, but alas, it isn't fiction: Parks and Rec's Chris Pratt used to be a stripper.

Looks like Pratt's got something to talk about at brunch with Channing Tatum and Diablo Cody (we would pay good money to be invited to such a brunch) — all of the above spent portions of their youth taking off their clothes for money, although Tatum and Cody went a tad more professional than Pratt did.

“I was always a very much naked person," Pratt said in a recent interview with BuzzFeed. "I loved to always get naked. I was very free, so I thought, I may as well get paid.” Which, hey, sounds legit to us.

He got a few jobs, apparently, but never really moved past the amateur level.

He worked several gigs when he was 18, including a bachelorette party, but by far the most memorable job was taking it all off for his friend’s grandmother’s birthday party.

“It was a surprise,” he said, laughing. “I don’t know how it got around to them, but they paid me $40. I was never like Magic Mike, you know. I did go one time and audition on a stage for a club, but I don’t think I got the job. I don’t think I’m a very good dancer.”

It was all part of a larger entrepreneurial spirit — he also mowed lawns, washed cars, and worked a bunch of part-time jobs — you know, general American dream stuff. And hey, if you're born super hot, why not include stripping in that American dream?

Pratt's a new dad, so maybe he and wife Anna Faris will transfer that spirit (stripping optional) to the gaggle of children they seem intent on having. "We've always envisioned a zoo," Faris said recently to E!. And hey, the world could always use more adorable kooks who know how to get stuff done. Meanwhile, we are still trying to imagine Andy Dwyer stripping at our grandmother's party and it's going a little something like this.
