Chrissy Teigen Channeled Barbarella For The BBMAs

I'm not the only one who saw Chrissy Teigen's 2015 Billboard Music Awards ensemble and immediately thought, "Barbarella," right? For those of you unfamiliar with the 1968 science-fiction classic, here's the lowdown: Starring Jane Fonda, Barbarella is a luxe opera set in outer space. The film gave the world the most iconic jumpsuit/big hair/boob combination in history, and Fonda's character basically spends the entire film looking fabulous while shooting ray guns at Duran Duran.

If it sounds over the top and perfect, that's because it absolutely is. Flash forward to the actual future: The 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Otherworldly megafauna Chrissy Teigen just showed up on the red carpet with absurdly handsome husband John Legend, but that isn't what caught our eye. Instead, it was her outfit, which was a clear callback to Fonda's iconic character. Teigen's jumpsuit had a deep, plunging neckline, and the monochrome and gold stripes gave the flared jumpsuit an undoubtedly futuristic vibe.

However, what really shot Teigen into Barbarella's stratosphere was her voluminous blonde waves and golden skin. Can you say space-age disco goddess? This will only be one of Teigen's inevitably amazing looks tonight: she is hosting the show with co-host Ludacris. As usual, her presence will almost certainly mean that the show is infinitely more interesting than it would have been without her, especially if this outfit is any indication.
