#PlusSizePlease Could Help Change Sizing Options

by Augusta Statz

If there’s ever a time for this movement to catch on, it’s now. With a huge push towards body positivity and changing the way the fashion industry does sizing, the #PlusSizePlease hashtag created by a blogger needs to catch on. Can we please make this a thing?

Now that you guys are on board, let me tell you a little bit about how it works. If you see something that you’d love to buy — if only it, I don’t know, came in your size — then, use the #PlusSizePlease hashtag and the name of the retailer on social media. The only way brands will be willing to make a change is if they know the demand is there. And oh, it’s there, all right!

Curvily blogger Sarah Chiwaya first created this hashtag last April, and it has gotten some usage online, but now it’s time to really break the Internet, Kim Kardashian style, with this thing, you know what I’m saying?

“Over 60% of American women wear a size 14 or above, but only 17% of clothing sold is 14 & up,” Chiwaya wrote on her blog. “That is a ridiculous disparity.”

All I have to say is, amen, sister! So, spread the word and finally be able to find your size by using the hashtag.

It’s time to start a revolution!
