Southern Charmers React To Charleston Shooting

by Nicole Pomarico

On Wednesday night, the city of Charleston, South Carolina was struck by tragedy when a shooter opened fire at the historic Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, killing nine people during a prayer meeting. Obviously, the people of Charleston are shocked by the horrible event — including the cast of Bravo's Southern Charm. In fact, the cast is so rooted in their southern traditions and the city they live in that Charleston has become a huge element of the show itself, so it's not surprising that they're heartbroken by something like this happening in their hometown. By Thursday morning, many members of the Southern Charm cast had turned to Twitter to react to the shooting, and their messages all have one thing in common: They're horrified by the events that have transpired.

Although the entire cast has yet to comment on the shooting, several key members have, including Landon Clements, Shep Rose, and Craig Conover. And although Patricia Altschul has yet to comment herself, she's retweeted dozens of messages from fans about the shooting, as well as news updates. Being that the situation is terrifying and upsetting even from far away, I can't imagine what it must be like to witness something like this happening so close to home.

Here are some of their messages:
