Cure Kourtney & Scott Breakup Grief With Twitter

by Tracy Dye

Mondays are bad enough as it is, and on Monday, July 6, fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians had a particularly jilting start to their week when news broke that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have split after nine years together. Although Kardashian and Disick's relationship has weathered its share of challenges and missteps, the two always seemed like they would be able to endure even the most seemingly insurmountable feats. As we console ourselves with old episodes of KUWTK, boxed wine, and that secret "Scott & Kourtney 4Ever" Pinterest page you made three years ago (privacy settings #FTW — amiright??), let's remember that this breakup does not mean the end of love and #RelationshipGoals as we know it. Don't cancel that hot date you have planned Friday night, delete your dating apps, or plan to divorce and cite Kardashian and Disick's irreconcilable differences, because that is extremely unproductive and rash.

As many of us (me) enjoy vicariously living through celebrity relationships as opposed to pursuing one IRL, a celebrity breakup of this magnitude requires us to experience different stages of breakup grief. Lucky for you, Twitter basically exploded after news broke of the split, because of course it did. Fans from across the globe have congested everyone's respective newsfeed with a vast array of emotions. As a public service to Kardashian and Disick fans everywhere, I have cherrypicked several tweets that perfectly articulate each stage of celebrity breakup grief to help us all through this tough time. Stay strong, guys!

Denial

This isn't even real, guys, so we can all stop freaking out. OK, it's probably real, but I don't even care. What? I DON'T! Seriously...

Anger

WRITING IN ALL CAPS IS NECESSARY TO VENT YOUR EMOTIONS DURING THIS STAGE!! I'm not being facetious — it's actually the least disruptive form of yelling ever invented.

Sadness

In case you're wondering, these tears aren't from crying — I just chopped up ten onions. (I didn't chop up any onions.)

A Lost Sense Of Direction

What day is it? What am I doing with my life? Am I even real? My head is spinning.

Reminiscence

Excuse me while I stare at old pictures of Disick and Kardashian (that's not creepy at all) and listen to "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan on a continuous loop.

Acceptance

Honestly, tweets of acceptance or nonchalance over the split are pretty few and far in between. Obviously, these things take time. I promise you guys we will get through this. Until then, don't shy from letting out all those feels — we are in this together.
