If you haven’t met the other member of the Kardashian clan, allow me to introduce Kamille the Camel, AKA Khloé Kardashian’s *famous* camel toe. Kardashian has a camel toe so often, that her sisters named it — and the nomenclature is a total power move.

Why? Because just about everyone who’s ever worn leggings or bike shorts has, at some point or another, encountered a camel toe of their own. Truly, we’ve all been there. But, if you want to nix the groin-forward look, don’t you worry. There are several fail-proof tips for preventing unwanted camel toe that are much easier to implement than you’d think.

For example: the front wedgie mostly appears when wearing silhouettes and fabrics that are fit close to the body (read: leggings, cycling shorts, bodysuits, unitards, and other activewear favorites). So choosing the right materials and construction is super important.

But more on that ahead. Keep reading for surefire tips that will nip your own Kamille right in the bud, no matter what you’re wearing.

1. Make a tissue barrier

If your camel toe makes a surprise appearance while you’re out and about, make a dash to the bathroom for a quick fix. Grab some toilet paper and wrap it three times around three fingers. Tear it off, fold it in half, and insert it into your underwear — no one will be the wiser.

2. Pop on a pantyliner

Yes, those miniature pads can *actually* help with this wardrobe problem. Just stick one in your undies as directed. Problem fixed. (This works great for thicker fabrics, like jeans.)

3. Invest in a camel toe guard

If this is a frequent problem no matter what you wear, it might be time to invest in a wardrobe tool to do the trick. Ever heard of a camel toe guard? These reusable pads will be your go-to for long-term prevention. (Even Kardashian uses them when Kamille isn’t invited to the party.)

4. Wear dark bottoms

Go for leggings, bike shorts, etc. in darker colors, like deep black or navy hue. No matter what size or fit, a darker tone will call less attention to your camel toe. It’s like the opposite of gray sweatpants (IYKYK).

5. Try seamless leggings

The front seam of leggings is usually the culprit, when it comes to this wardrobe issue. Instead, try seeking out a pair of seamless leggings to avoid unwanted pulling.

6. Double check the size

Sometimes camel toe is a result simply of your bottoms being just a little bit too small. Try shopping a size up. It will likely do the trick.

7. Look for leggings with a crotch gusset

Yes, there is a name for that diamond-shaped piece of fabric that’s often found in the crotch of your leggings. The idea is to draw the seams away from a central area — and it really works. You’re welcome.

8. Avoid flimsy fabrics

Regardless of pant size or silhouette, camel toe can result from bottoms that are made of too-thin material. Particularly when shopping for leggings, try to find pairs that boast a slightly heavier weave.

9. Try a high-rise cut

It’s simple: a higher waistband offers more room and less pressure on your crotch.
