The Most Insane Rumors About Tom Hiddleston

When you're a popular and beloved celebrity, rumors are going to follow you wherever you go. It's an unfortunate truth for Crimson Peak actor Tom Hiddleston, but it only makes since that the actor who made Thor's villainous Loki a fan-favorite has had to deal with his fair share of rumors. When you're widely famous and recognizable, well, all kinds of reports are bound to happen, right? You know what that means? There are some insane Tom Hiddleston rumors out there.

Now, I'm not talking about all those usual reports revolving around T. Hiddleston. Time and again, Hiddlestoners have read Tom Hiddleston romance reports that automatically assume he's dating all of his co-stars, including Jessica Chastain and Elizabeth Olsen. However, dating rumors aren't anything new for this celebrity. Heck, he can go to dinner with a friend and the next day the two are dating, in love, and ready to be married. I'm sure he's used to that, but wait until you read some of these much more absurd rumors about the actor.

First, I don't know why anyone would want to make up anything about Hiddleston, because he is pretty much perfect in every way. Seeing as the 34-year-old is an all-around perfect human, it actually benefits him, because no one is going to believe ridiculous reports about him — here are some of the craziest ones:

1. He & Benedict Have A Forbidden Romance

Really, people? Can't Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch just be best friends? The fact that Hiddlesbatch is an epic friendship is something we should cherish, rather than turning it into some forbidden romance. The Tom/Benedict dating rumors escalated after Cumberbatch responded during a Reddit AMA to a fan who asked if the BFFs have "cheek bone polishing parties" with Doctor Who's Matt Smith.

Here's Cumberbatch's amazing response: "We like nothing better than buffing our Zygoma. And imagining a horny time traveling long overcoat purple scarf wearing super sleuth nordic legend f*ck fantasy. Get to work on that, internet." Whether the Reddit user was joking, being an jerk, or just really wants this to happen, remains unknown. With that said, here's how Hiddleston responded to the Cumberbatch's response. He told Yahoo!, “Benedict. That’s just asking for trouble, isn’t it? Oh my goodness. That’s quite a mischievous thing to do. I’ll be having words with him about that.”

2. That Tom & RDJ Are More Than Friends

After the interview above with fellow Avengers star Robert Downey Jr., some started to believe Hiddleston and RDJ had great chemistry, which totally means they're more than friends, right? Don't get me wrong, I get it, because both RDJ and Hiddleston are super charming and who wouldn't want to date them? But, just because two individuals have chemistry doesn't mean they're together.

3. That He's Uppity & Cocky

Tom Hiddleston uppity and cocky? I would never use those two words to describe the actor. He seems kind, fun, and always treats his fans with the utmost respect. However, it appears some believe Hiddleston is arrogant, because of his upbringing and because he attended Eton, a well-known boarding school in England. He told TimeOut London about people making assumptions about his demeanor

Let’s be clear. At the beginning of my career, I had an easier ride through lean times. I’m lucky. And I understand negative perspectives. The thing is, I don’t think actors and directors give a sh*t. It feels like ammunition for someone who’s got an axe to grind. They write things about me and I think, I’m not this person, I’m not in the Conservative party, it’s just an accident of birth and I’m sorry if you’re offended by that.

4. That He's A Pole Dancer

Yes, Tom Hiddleston is an amazing dancer, but I'm pretty sure he's not a pole dancer — unless he likes to take pole dancing classes in his free time, which many say are a great workout? Whatever the case, while chatting with HuffPost UK, the actor revealed that a particular Loki/Thor scene in Thor lead many to believe he was an accomplished pole dancer:

I’ve had some very strange fan mail over the years. There’s a moment in the first Thor movie where Thor and Loki are engaged in a fight. I have a spear in my hand and I make a huge leap to spear Chris — but he dodges out of the way. The spear is embedded into the ground, so I use the spear as a lever to spin myself around and kick him in the chest. Well, some fans have interpreted this as emblematic of my hidden talent at pole dancing. I’ve received a surprising number of depictions of myself in a pair of tight briefs and a horny helmet dancing on a pole. That is pretty weird and hilarious."

Some crazy T. Hiddleston rumors, right? Though, I wouldn't mind seeing him pole dance...
