These Tiny Food Themed Bookmarks Are The Future

by Lara Rutherford-Morrison

There are many good arguments on both sides in the epic battle between e-readers and paper books. On the one hand, e-readers give readers portability and erase the need to rent a special storage shed just for books. On the other hand, paper books are shareable and write-in-able (yes, a technical term), and they have that amazing book smell. I waffle between the two sometimes, but these adorable felt bookmarks have me coming down firmly on the side of “paper books.” E-readers, I’m sorry, but until you find a way to incorporate fruity felt bookmarks into your operating systems, paper books win.

These handmade bookmarks come from Inspirational Gecko, helmed by an Italian Etsy seller named “Francesca.” According to the 26-year-old seller’s profile, she studies natural sciences in Pisa and is particularly interested in nature. Her Etsy store is full of fun felt crafts inspired by animals and plants; She writes,

Stepping into my shop you will find yourself in a strange forest populated by odd and cute little creatures. Talk with them and let them introduce you to their colorful and wacky world. They love visitors!

These hand stitched bookmarks are a crafty take on fruit and (my favorite) pizza. Scroll through to see how you can add some adorable flair to your books:
