Guess Who's Designing Madonna's Tour Costumes?

by Tyler Atwood

Kerry Perry and Nicki Minaj may trot out terrifically eccentric costumes on their concert tours, but no chanteuse holds a candle to Madonna and her wardrobe of wacky, whimsical garb onstage. Fittingly, Women's Wear Daily reports that for her "Rebel Heart" World Tour, Madonna's costumes will be designed by Jeremy Scott and Fausto Puglisi amongst a laundry list of other notable designers. While cone bras don't appear to be on the menu for the forthcoming costume lineup, it is safe to say that a host of other avant-garde creations are imminent.

Hardly one to play it sartorially safe, Madonna garnered the assistance of the fashion industry's hautest labels to forge a wardrobe unlike all the rest including the efforts of Moschino designer Scott and cutting-edge creative Puglisi. Also on the roster are Alexander Wang, Miu Miu, Gucci, Prada, and Swarovski, each of which possesses a unique eye for boundary-breaking garb. Madonna's past concert getups may have proved revolutionary, but the "Rebel Heart" World Tour promises to reach a new stratosphere of sultry sophistication. While no concrete details of the designs are yet known — and likely little will be disclosed until the tour begins September 9 — Madonna's Instagram offered a teaser in the form of sketches depicting past music video and concert garb.

Will Madonna sport another leopard-print mini like the one she donned for "Bitch I'm Madonna"? Is a heavily tailored skirt suit complete with fishnet stockings or a Gaultier-esque conical bustier on the docket for Madonna's tour? The options are seemingly endless.

However, given Madonna's history of appalling audiences in the most audacious manner, I would wager a guess that the clothing will be lace-infused, luxe, skin-baring, and ever-so-slightly salacious. Viva Madonna!
