G.O.P Reacts to Implementation of Obamacare

by Katherine Johnson

Whether the GOP likes it or not, Obamacare is coming on October 1. On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius met with Democrats to discuss what Americans are confused about and what needs to be addressed before the law takes effect. Following the meeting, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said of Obamacare, “The implementation of this is fabulous." She also added that "guaranteeing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is what the policy is all about.

And, as you might imagine, the comment didn't sit well with Republican leaders, who took to social media Thursday morning in disagreement with Pelosi.

Matt Gorman, a rapid response director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, tweeted "fabulous" with a link to a longer blog post about Pelosi's comments and exactly why Obamacare, well, isn't.

In his post, Gorman says Pelosi has contradicted herself numerous times on the facts of Obamacare. "Every couple of weeks Nancy Pelosi unleashes a statement praising ObamaCare that honestly makes you wonder if she’s picked up a newspaper in the last year," Gorman wrote.

Ouch. Perhaps Obama's addition of celebrities to the cause can help the policies go down a little more fabulously?
