Rebecca Minkoff & Jessica Alba Team To Design Bags

by Augusta Statz

I seriously can’t think of anything better than women teaming up to help make other women more successful, and that’s exactly what these two have done with their latest project. Rebecca Minkoff and Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company designed bags for a cause that will help a women-run business. Proceeds from the bags go to FINCA, an organization that works to end global poverty. In this case, funds will go specifically to the city of Sololá, Guatemala to help fuel their handmade tapestry business. The money raised through this initiative will help the women responsible for making these textiles manage their work and contribute to their households. These women not only inspired this project, they also handmade the patterns used in each of the bag designs.

The collection, featuring a diaper bag and a matching clutch, contains colorful patterns that have a special meaning and a handmade touch. The bags feature two different designs, because who doesn’t like to mix it up every once in a while? With bags this functional, meaningful and beautiful, you should definitely get one in each color. And so what that one is technically a diaper bag, you know? A bag this chic deserves to be carried, baby or no.

Check out this video to learn more about the project, and then shop the designs that Alba and Minkoff created with the help of the Guatemalan women.

Now that you're all inspired and whatnot, get to shopping!
