Celebs Channel Rosie For Women's Equality Day

Wednesday, Aug. 26 is a very special day for women. Why's that? It's Women's Equality Day, which focuses on the celebration of women who have fought and continue to fight for equal rights and opportunities. And the date is a very appropriate choice since Aug. 26 was the day in 1920 when the 19th Amendment became part of the Constitution giving women the right to vote for the first time in the United States. This year, many celebrities are embracing Women's Equality Day on social media with photos showcasing their inner Rosie the Riveter.

As you can see below, celebs are posing like Rosie the Riveter, who was and continues to be an American icon representing women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II. In addition to those who are channeling their inner Rosie, other famous faces are taking to Twitter to voice their support for gender equality, talk about why women's rights are important every day of the year, and express their hope that the Equal Rights Amendment (a law that for gender equality and equal protection for both men and women) will one day be put into effect.

Well, let's hope men and women, like these celebs, can ban together to not only support equality, but one day achieve equal rights without discrimination for all in our nation. Wanna join in? Channel your own inner Rosie the Riveter and celebrate Women's Equality Day like these talents:
