There are a handful of stars who are always guaranteed to make a statement on the red carpet — one that isn't always going to be praised by fashion critics. Lena Dunham wasn't on the 2015 Emmys red carpet, and I missed her characteristically bold and in-your-face (yet totally chic) style. Of course, even if she had appeared, I doubt anything could be quite as memorable as her 2014 Giambattista Valli-designed Emmy's look. Not many things really could compete with the cupcake-like dress that captured everyone's attention.
Whether you like her style or not, you have to admire the creativity and individuality that goes into every single one of Dunham's looks. Her entire ensembles are usually so enviable, IMHO, even though it's not even in line with my own personal sense of style. That's a pretty admirable quality in any outfit, if you ask me. Whether she's wearing a bright pink giant skirt or a statement floral gown, Dunham is always a favorite of mine on the red carpet. And while I'm disappointment she didn't show up this year, I look forward to her future award shows outfits, of which I'm sure there will be many. Here are some of Dunham's past Emmy's looks that stunned.

OK, I kind of love this one too. Especially that makeup — so fierce.
Dunham's Emmy's fashion game has always been on point, it seems. Here's to waiting to see what she wears next year.
