Bear Winslet

With a name like Bear Rocknroll, you would think one’s career choices would be limited. The newborn son of actress Kate Winslet and English Ned Rocknroll, however, opted (we are going to assume this was someone his decision) to take his mum’s last name. But with a name like Bear, he’s sure to stand out. Especially along side big sister Mia and big brother Joe.

Sparrow James Midnight Madden

Socialite Nicole Richie and hubby Joel Madden gave their son one very normal name (James) and two not so common ones: Sparrow (like the bird, and the Captain), and Midnight. He’s a rocker, she’s a BFF of Paris Hilton who likes to end sentences with “… in the bed.” Clearly, we shouldn’t of expected anything conventional from this pair.

Birdie & Cricket

Cougar Town’s Busy Phillips is all about bringing out her children’s spirit animals. The actress has two kiddies with husband Marc Silverstein: Birdie and Cricket, both of which could either be named after animals, or pieces of sports equipment. Hmm…

Nakoa-Wolf

In case you were wondering, Jason Momoa is a glorious human specimen. Portraying the late husband of Khaleesi on Game of Thrones, we went from hating his character to swooning over him. And in 2009, the GOT star fathered a son with wife Lisa Bonet, who they named: Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa, making “Wolf” the most pronounceable part of their son’s name.

Puma

Perhaps she’s just a tennis shoe enthusiast, but we’re guessing Erykah Badu and rapper Tracy “The D.O.C” Curry named their daughter Puma after the wild cat.

Lion

Actor Alex O’Loughlin and his wife Malia Jones decided to name their kid after the kind of the jungle: Lion.

Rufus Tiger

This Queen musician named his son Rufus Tiger in 1991, so perhaps Roger Taylor was the original trend setter, having named his child more than 20 years ago.

Bear Blu, Buddy Bear, Everly Bear

From Alicia Silverstone’s son Bear Blu, to Red Hot Chili Pepper rocker Anthony Kiedis’s Everly Bear, and Foodie Jamie Oliver’s Buddy Bear, the name “Bear” is in more demand than we ever realized.
