You Need To Try Mindy Kaling's Face Mask

by Sienna Fantozzi

I'm all about the face masks (who doesn't want "glowing, luminous skin" and all that jazz), but sometimes those products can just cost way more than I care to spend on skincare. Luckily for us, Mindy Kaling Instagrammed her apple cider vinegar face mask, and you can make it with ingredients you probably already have at home in your cabinet. No cost + gorgeous skin = a win win. Just one more reason to love Mindy Kaling (as if we needed another).

The Mindy Project star posted a selfie to Instagram on Wednesday, showing off her, well, less-glamorous side. Kaling was all covered up in a facial mask, but she wasn't just 'gramming to show off her mud-covered face — she also photographed the ingredients used to make the mask. The 36-year-old writer/actress mixed apple cider vinegar with Indian Healing Clay and then applied it to her face. It's stupid simple to make, cheap, and from Kaling's reviews, seriously effective.

As I'm sure you've already heard, ACV is all the buzz in the beauty world right now, since it balances out your skin between too dry and too oily, tightens pores, and can help prevent breakouts. Plus, it's all natural. And you cannot beat that.

Now I'm ready for a Netflix + face masks night.

Here's what you need to recreate Mindy Kaling's mask:

Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (32 oz.), $12, Amazon

Indian Healing Clay, $10, Amazon

Ready to jump on board the apple cider vinegar train? Here's a few other ways to use it besides in a face mask.

1. Hair Rinse

Use equal parts water and ACV to add shine to your hair and prevent frizz.

2. Teeth Whitener

Swishing with apple cider vinegar can help remove stains and kill bacteria.

3. Bath Soak

Add a few capfuls of ACV to your bath to draw out toxins.
